MY WHY -

Hi everyone,

This year, I am once again taking part in the Mater Chicks in Pink Fun Run, an event that means more to me than I can ever fully express. Every dollar raised goes toward supporting women and families facing the reality of breast cancer.

Many of you know that I partake in honour of my beautiful mum, who lost her life to this significant disease at 53 years old. As the years pass, her absence is something I feel more every day. Mum was the kind of person who gave endlessly—selfless, gentle, loving, and full of warmth. Taking part in this event each year is one of the ways I keep her close. It’s my way of carrying Mum forward, honouring the life she lived, and turning something painful into something that can help others.

Your support - no matter the amount, truly makes a difference. Donations help provide counselling for women navigating the emotional weight of diagnosis, and practical items like mastectomy bras and wigs that help restore dignity during treatment. They also fund vital research aimed at improving survival rates and moving us toward a future where no family has to lose someone they love to this disease.
