Brisbane to Gold Coast 2026

My Third Ride. My Most Personal One Yet. 🩷

This year I’m taking on the 100km Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle for Cancer for the third consecutive year 🚴🏼‍♀️🩷

What began as a personal challenge has become something far more meaningful to me.

Recently, cancer became something deeply personal after learning I carry the CDH1 gene mutation linked to Hereditary Diffuse Gastric Cancer. Living with the reality of genetic cancer risk changes the way you see the future, your health, and even the everyday moments you once took for granted. It’s a journey filled with appointments, uncertainty, difficult conversations and a whole new level of appreciation for research, early detection and the people dedicating their lives to improving outcomes for families like mine.

This ride now represents so much more than 100km on a bike. It’s for the people currently fighting cancer, for families living with hereditary cancer syndromes, for those navigating fear and unknowns, and for the hope that continued research and support can change lives.

This year my fundraising goal is $750 and, honestly, it reminds me how powerful community really is — because if just 75 friends or family members donated $10 each, we’d reach that goal together so quickly. Small contributions genuinely add up and help fund life-changing research, support services and care for people impacted by cancer every single day.

Between mum life, work, study and training squeezed into the chaos of everyday life, preparing for 100km hasn’t exactly been glamorous 😂 but this cause gives every early morning and a sore bum into something meaningful.

If you’d like to support me, whether through a donation, sharing my page or simply cheering me on, I would be so incredibly grateful. Thank you for helping me ride for something that now means so much to me personally 🩷

  • Thanks to your support, Jordan Mackay has raised enough for 0.5 hours of research lab time.
