What’s my why? In one week, I’ll be running to raise funds for breast cancer support at Mater. I have three very personal reasons:
1) A close family member survived breast cancer and directly benefited from Mater’s care and support.
2) Another family member is currently undergoing treatment.
3) And 16 months ago, we lost a dear friend here in Emerald as a consequence of this disease.
These are my three whys.

🏃🏼♀️Two Weeks to Go
On Sunday 4 March I will be running for two very special women named Liz.
My mother-in-law, Liz Caffery, has faced breast cancer head on not once but twice. Liz said she has directly benefited from the care and practical support funded by Mater Chicks in Pink during her treatment.
And my dear friend, Liz Alexander, who lost her battle with breast cancer less than two years ago. She left an enormous space in the lives of all who knew her.

The countdown is on - only three weeks until I take part in the International Women’s Day Mater Chicks in Pink Fun Run.
Fundraising is starting to build momentum, which is so encouraging.
Every cent raised goes directly to supporting women living with breast cancer through practical and emotional support during treatment.

I’m part of the International Women’s Day Fun Run!
I'm raising funds to support women with breast cancer now and into the future.
By making a donation, you can play a part in improving treatments and care for women diagnosed with breast cancer.
When you donate, you’re helping to support counselling services and supply practical items like mastectomy bras and wigs after surgery and chemotherapy.
You’ll also be supporting world leading research that focuses on improving survival rates and working towards a world where ALL women diagnosed with breast cancer survive.
