Doing it for Niv
On March 8, 2026, I’ll be taking part in the Mater Foundation International Women’s Day Fun Run, something I’ve done every year since 2019. But this year, it’s different. This year, I’m running for Niv.
In December 2024, I lost one of my closest friends, Nivek, after a sudden and devastating 7‑month battle with breast cancer. I’ve known Niv since high school. We have been through the awkward teenage years, to faking it into adulthood, standing next to each other on our wedding days and muddling our way through motherhood together.
Niv leaves behind her husband Tom, and their three beautiful boys, Arlo, Remy, and baby Felix, who was only 5 months old when she passed. No family should have to go through what Tom and the boys have.
So this year, I’m running:
💗 To honour Niv — her strength, her joy, and her love for her boys.
💗 To support families who are walking the same terrifying path.
💗 And to help fund research that can give more women more time.

I'm raising funds to support women with breast cancer now and into the future.
