Running Through the Unknown, Towards Hope

I'm taking part in this fundraising run with my son for a very personal reason.

I’ve recently been diagnosed with two separate breast cancers within three years. Despite extensive genetic testing using the latest gene panel technology, there’s still no clear explanation. Current science cannot yet fully explain why this happens — or completely remove the risk of it returning over a lifetime. Living with that uncertainty is why research matters so deeply to me. 

Along the way, I was supported by incredible nurses, counselling services, and exercise programs that helped me through treatment and recovery. These services are vital, and they exist because of people who choose to give.

I’m grateful my cancers were detected early, and I want to honour those facing more aggressive breast cancers. Every breast cancer journey is different, but everyone deserves access to care, support, and answers.
